Syria urges boycott of US over its sanctions vote
| Damascus, Syria
Syria's government-controlled press called for an Arab economic boycott of the United States for its vote against UN sanctions on Israel.
The call further intensified the campaign Syria has mounted against Israel and the US since the Jewish state annexed the Syrian Golan Heights Dec. 14.
Syria is expected to press for moves against the US, and possibly West European countries that also voted against the sanctions, at an emergency meeting of Arab foreign ministers due to be held in Tunis on Friday.
