Atlantic publisher Gray fired in policy dispute

Atlantic magazine publisher Bruce Gray was fired in an apparent policy dispute with owner Mortimer Zuckerman, who is trying to make the prestigious monthly publication a profitable venture.

Mr. Gray called his firing ''an involuntary separation,'' resulting from ''policy differences on the magazine's business side.''

Mr. Zuckerman would not say why Gray was removed.
