Peru leftists raid prison; 20 are killed, 270 freed

Leftist guerrillas attacked a prison with dynamite and gunfire in fighting that killed an estimated 20 people and freed 270 prisoners, including 80 suspected terrorists, radio reports said. The attack seemed to be aimed at freeing three imprisoned guerrilla leaders of the Maoist movement known as Sendero Luminoso.
