Guerrillas, Army clash in Colombia fighting

Six soldiers were killed in an ambush, and 12 leftist guerrillas died in armed clashes with government troops in various parts of Colombia over the weekend, an Army spokesman said.

About 80 guerrillas of the April 19 Movement (known as M-19) ambushed an Army convoy after dynamiting a bridge leading to the town of Florencia. The government also said 20 M-19 guerrillas occupied the village of Santa Ana de las Hermosas for a few hours.
