US Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger agreed to transfer $2 billion in arms and ammunition to South Korea in case of war in a ''clear signal'' of defense readiness aimed at Communist North Korea.
Mr. Weinberger and South Korean Defense Minister Choo Young Bock signed the unique agreement at the end of annual security consultations. The pact has been submitted to Congress, where it is expected to meet a warm reception.
