Transport plane hijacked in Poland by military men

Two armed military men hijacked a Polish military transport plane and forced the mechanic to fly to Vienna, picking up their wives and families on the way, Austrian police said. The plane landed in Vienna with 10 people on board, after flying at treetop height over Czechoslovakia to avoid radar detection. Officials said the Soviet-built aircraft had been on a routine training flight from Krakow. The two hijackers were detained. All but the mechanic asked for political asylum.
