| Albuquerque, N.M.
In a case that reflects a growing concern about violent crimes committed by children, a Juvenile Court jury convicted 12-year-old Sheryl Trujillo of second-degree murder in the drowning last July of an 8-year-old playmate in a city swimming pool.
Monitor contributor Nancy Gail Reed reports prosecutors said Trujillo and an another girl, who was not charged, held Veronica Rodriguez underwater repeatedly , ''looking at the clock while they did it.'' As a result of the decision, Trujillo faces up to 2 years in the New Mexico Girls' School when she is sentenced April 26.
