Look at jazzy Cazzie now
Well-traveled forward Cazzie Russell may be making his way back to the National Basketball Association - as a coach. His goal is within reach judging by the job he's done at the helm of the minor league Lancaster Lightning. The general managers and owners of the Continental Basketball Association have just voted Russell Coach of the Year in the eight-team circuit. Only a year ago, at 36, he was named the CBA's Newcomer of the Year, averaging 23 points a game while playing for the Philadelphia Kings. Probably no one else has ever won a pro league's top rookie and coaching honors in back-to-back years.
Henry Bibby, Russell's assistant and a former teammate of Cazzie's on the NBA's New York Knicks, says, ''I've never known anyone within the game of basketball who cared more about teaching young guys the game than Cazzie.''
