Capital won't be Colombo -- new one's a jumbo

The population in this overcrowded capital city has doubled from the 284,000 of 50 years ago, and that is apparently cramping the government's style. So Sri Lanka officials have decided to move government offices to a new national capital five miles up the road. The move may give the bureaucracy more elbow room, but it will squeeze the ministerial stationery: the new capital city is Sri Jayewardanapura.
