Soviet adviser shot by Afghan rebels

Seven months after he was kidnapped and offered as ransom for 50 captive Afghan rebels, a Soviet minerals adviser, M. Okrimyuk, was executed by an a rebel firing squad, rebel sources said. Mr. Okrimyuk was kidnapped in Kabul in September 1981. His execution in mid-March ended months of negotiations for his release through the International Red Cross.
