Mubarak, US envoy fail to spur autonomy talks

The US effort to revive the negotiations on Palestinian autonomy showed no visible sign of success following talks between US special envoy Richard Fairbanks and President Hosni Mubarak. Mr. Fairbanks is trying to persuade Mr. Mubarak to let the talks take place in Jerusalem, a condition now being made by Israel for reentering the negotiations.
