Soviets set space stage for joint French mission

The Soviet Union launched a spaceship with two cosmonauts aboard to dock with the new Salyut 7 orbiting space laboratory, the official news agency Tass said.

The Soyuz T-5 launching was seen as a preliminary flight for a joint Soviet-French space mission expected to take place at the end of June.
