Palestinians and leftists skirmish in south Lebanon

One person was killed and 10 were injured in gun battles between a local leftist group and Palestinian guerrillas in this southern Lebanese port. Security sources said the clashes started when gunmen stormed the house of aleader of a leftist group, the Popular Nasserist Organization, and killed him. Gun battles started several fires in the city center. Sidon is the headquarters of Palestinian guerrilla forces in southern Lebanon, and there is frequent tension between them and the Popular Nasserist Organization.
