Story of Walesa release a misquote, Poland says

A Polish minister's statement that Solidarity leader Lech Walesa would be ''released soon'' - attributed by an American TV network to a Polish vice-premier - is being downplayed by Polish officials, reports Monitor correspondent Eric Bourne. Polish officials said the minister, Jerzy Ozdowski, had been misunderstood or misquoted in the course of translation and that the sense of his remarks was that it would be ''a good thing'' if Mr. Walesa was or could be freed sometime soon.
