What's in a royal name

Britain's new royal baby, named William Arthur Philip Louis, will be known as Prince William of Wales, Buckingham Palace announced.

Palace sources said the name William was chosen because Charles and Diana have no relatives with that name and believed that it wouldn't bother anyone. In naming him William, the royal couple revived an old royal name. The fourth and most recent King William reigned from 1830 to 1837, while the first, William of Normandy, conquered England in 1066. If he becomes king he could be styled King William V, but he has the right to reign under another name.
