When David Stockman, a young congressman from Michigan, was named as head of the Office of Management and Budget, he left a tidy $31,000 in his reelection purse. The big question: What to do with it? The answer: form the Free Enterprise Fund, the path selected by his erstwhile campaign committee.

To date, investments include a $500 check to the Berrion County Youth Fair livestock auction and a $4,000 contribution to a candidate who lost his bid to replace Stockman in the US House.m
