New homes for Haitians in sight, Miamians say

Resettlement workers, hoping to get another 25 Haitian refugees released from a federal detention center Monday, said that despite some problems in coordination and financing they will find new homes for all 1,800 Haitians in confinement.
The first 17 were released Friday from the Krome Avenue detention center. None were released over the weekend, but resettlement workers were scouting the Little Haiti section to verify names and addresses of relatives sponsoring the release of the incarcerated refugees.
