6 Boston-area police indicted in murder

Six policemen, who allegedly took part brawl in which one man was killed and eight injured, have been indicted in first-degree murder.

Four other officers and three of their alleged victims were charged Wednesday with lesser offenses by a Suffolk County grand jury. Three unnamed defendants also were charged in the incident. The late-night melee July 23 at a motel in the Boston suburb of Chelsea reportedly started after an off-duty policeman got into a fight with a motel employee.
