Climbing the corporate ladder, ma'am?

If so, you may go farther in banking. A 1982 survey of the 150 largest US banks, conducted by the American Bankers Association, shows that almost 40 percent of the nation's bank managers these days are women. How does this stack up with industry in general? The latest figures from the federal government ( 1980) show women accounting for 18.5 percent of the managerial work force.

That year, the comparable figure for women in banking was 34.7 percent.m
