Draft resister sentenced to hospital work and fined

Mennonite draft resister Mark A. Schmucker was sentenced to serve two years working in a hospital for the mentally retarded and fined $4,000 for refusing to register for the draft.
The sentence was handed down by US District Court Judge Ann Aldrich. Mr. Schmucker was the third draft resister to be sentenced since the Vietnam War. He was convicted Oct. 5.
