Japanese cars are rated worst of all for safety

Japanese cars have the worst safety records of all makes sold in the United States, according to a report from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Large American cars have the best safety record, according to the report, which was based on insurance claims for injury and collision damage compiled by the insurance industry trade association.
