Falklanders able to decide future in '83, Pym hints
| London
British Foreign Secretary Francis Pym has introduced the possibility that the people of the Falkland Islands, over which Britain and Argentina fought a war earlier this year, might be ready to decide their future sometime next year.
Mr. Pym said the islanders first had to repair their lives and homes after the 10-week Falklands battle. He said there could be no timetable for self-determination for the Falklanders, but added that by next year they perhaps will have had time to make a ''dispassionate assessment and will be ready to talk about what their future should be.''
