Constantly replacing canvas in reclining chairs? Try plastic

Q. Our poolside metal-frame, canvas-covered reclining chairs require periodic canvas replacement. Now, I can't find any canvas. Where might I obtain it?

Margaret C. Bean Jaffrey, N.H.

A. You may want to investigate the more permanent plastic fabric, flat or rolled strips, for replacing the worn-out canvas. Check with patio-furniture dealers for a source of such fabric. See Yellow Pages under ''Patio Equipment & Supplies.''
