House vote seeks damper on FTC regulatory powers

The House voted to cut funding for the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and prohibit it from regulating doctors and other professionals already regulated by state agencies.

The House took the action in a bill extending the FTC's existence another three years. The bill was approved by voice vote and sent to the Senate.
