Herschel Walker wins Heisman Trophy

Herschel Walker, a running-back for the University of Georgia football team, was awarded the Heisman Trophy as the most outstanding college football player in the country.

Walker, a junior who rushed at a world-class sprinter's speed for 15 touchdowns and gained an average of 159 yards per game, led Georgia to the only perfect record among major colleges this year.
