Reagan's top 1980 adviser gets ball rolling for '84
| Washington
Lyn Nofziger, President Reagan's chief political adviser in 1980, is confident Mr. Reagan will run again. He invited 20 former Reagan aides to a preliminary organizing meeting for the Reagan campaign. The White House disavows any part in the meeting.
According to Monitor correspondent Godfrey Sperling Jr., Mr. Nofziger's move is strictly a volunteer operation. There is speculation that behind the meeting is an effort by GOP conservatives to get their philosophy firmly lodged in the possible Reagan reelection campaign.
