2 Lebanese killed, Israeli hurt in clash near Beirut

Two Lebanese Army soldiers were killed by Israeli troops and an Israeli soldier was wounded in a clash near the Lebanese Defense Ministry outside Beirut , Israeli and Lebanese officials said.

The Lebanese Army said the shoot-out occurred when Israeli troops tried to drive a jeep into the Lebanese Defense Ministry compound in suburban Yarze. But the Israeli military command said the gunfire came after an Israeli soldier was accidentally wounded by a Lebanese soldier, adding that the Lebanese allegation that an Israeli jeep tried to drive into the compound was ''absolutely not true.''
