'Annie' closes after six years on Broadway

''Annie,'' the musical comedy about America's favorite orphan, closed Jan. 2 with its 2,377th performance, a Broadway run of nearly six years, and gross receipts of $200 million. The story of the red-headed orphan and her dog Sandy was the seventh longest-running musical in Broadway history.
