Some tips on kerosene
With more than 10 million kerosene heaters in use today, proper fuel storage is important. The following are some important safety rules:
* Store the fuel in a container reserved for kerosene. Don't use an old gasoline can; if you're storing other fuel, you might mix up the cans and refuel the kerosene heater with gas.
* Keep the kerosene in a cool, well-ventilated area away from the living area and the garage. Don't try to stockpile fuel, and don't store it beyond one season.
* Always refuel the heater out-of-doors. Never refuel when the heater is hot or operating.
