Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.

In a story titled ''Sunbelt economy doesn't shine on the Delta'' (Jan. 6), it was incorrectly stated that Mississippi has no state income tax. This was a misunderstanding on the writer's part. In fact, Mississippi does have a state income tax, the revenues of which go into the state's general fund. The Monitor regrets the error.
