Inherit the night

After the toil and struggle of the day, Inherit the night with all the myriad stars; Tonight there is a quarter moon To light the pasture there, the bars Are down, the cattle bedded for the night - Only the moon and I keep vigil here. No - we are not alone at all For all the little creatures, it is clear, Although unseen, are all around. They are the ones who reallym own the land, The pasture, and the woods - They lend them to us with an open hand.
