Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.

Officials at this new photovoltaic plant say it may help move this type of solar technology beyond the realm of small-scale generators and ''gimmicks,'' to practical - and profitable - large-scale projects. Electricity from this Victorville plant, enough to power about 400 homes, will be sold to local utilities. Plans for similar projects on a larger scale are already being drafted.
