Kiawah Island, a resort and residential community about 20 miles south of historic Charleston, S.C., offers a variety of packages for the popular spring-summer season. Kiawah has 10 miles of wide beach, two 18-hole golf courses, 24 tennis courts at two tennis centers, pools, playgrounds, playfields, a complete recreation program for youngsters and families, 12 miles of paved bicycle paths, and several shops and restaurants.

The ''Island Vacation Package'' includes accommodations ranging from $148 -per-person double occupancy in the inn to $89 per person with eight people in a four-bedroom villa for the four-day, three-night plan and $299 to $151 per person for comparable accommodations with an eight-day, seven-night plan. In addition to accommodations, there is a choice of a water safari or a jeep safari in the undeveloped area of Kiawah or a day's use of bicycles.
