Train that activists trailed was a decoy, paper says
| Olympia, Wash.
The mysterious white train that peace activists followed across the country was a decoy loaded only with empty boxes, a newspaper reported. The Daily Olympian, quoting unidentified military intelligence sources, said the nuclear warheads believed to be aboard were instead flown to an airfield near Bremerton, Wash. The train was a ruse to foil possible terrorist attacks against the warheads bound for the Navy's Trident nuclear submarine base at Bangor, Wash., it said.
