Salvadorean police arrest two foreign journalists

Two foreign journalists were arrested and are under investigation for ties to guerrilla groups, police and US Embassy spokesman said. Joan Ambrose Newton of the BBC and T. J. Western of Associated Press radio were picked up at Mr. Western's home early Saturday by plainclothes Treasury police, they said. So far no formal charges have been made but police said they were investigating possible ties to subversive groups.
