Group says US is guilty of illegal acts in Nicaragua

The US is illegally carrying out covert activities to overthrow the Nicaraguan government, an American fact-finding team charged. Returning from visits to Nicaragua and Honduras, the eight-member team said the US was deeply involved in covert activities. It added that no convincing evidence was found that significant numbers of men and materiel were being sent by Nicaragua to El Salvador. Members of the survey group included Robert White, former US ambassador to El Salvador; three Democratic congressmen; and a former Democratic senator.
