Getting from airport to hotel: alternatives to a costly taxi

For some travelers the hidden costs of a vacation begin right after they have claimed their bags at the airport. Completely baffled as to how to get from the airport to the hotel, they take the easiest and most visible choice by hopping into a waiting cab. And, as the meter ticks relentlessly on to $20 or $25, they spend the ride wishing there had been some alternative.

In most cases, there is an alternative - or even several. Often there is limousine service that will take you directly to your hotel or to other points in the city for a fraction of the cab fare.
