Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.

NATO sources dismissed a call for a nuclear-weapons-free zone in the Baltic because the area is within easy reach of Soviet missiles. Soviet leader Yuri Andropov, speaking Tuesday before visiting President Mauno Koivisto of Finland, implied Moscow would consider keeping its nuclear submarines out of the area if Scandinavian countries barred atomic weapons from their territories. NATO sources said the Soviets have missiles that hit targets 3,000 miles away.
