Two American journalists and their Honduran driver were killed in a grenade attack by Nicaraguan troops across the Honduras border. The US Embassy named the two as Dial Torgerson of the Los Angeles Times and Richard Cross, a free-lance photographer on assignment for U.S. News & World Report. Nicaragua denied its soldiers were involved.
