US agency will not charge lawmakers with drug use

The Justice department said an investigation into allegations of drug use on Capitol Hill turned up insufficient evidence to bring criminal charges against Reps. Ronald Dellums (D) of California, Charles Wilson (D) of Texas, and former Rep. Barry Goldwater Jr. (R) of California.

The department said that information developed from the investigation would be made available to a House Ethics Committee investigation of illicit drug use or distribution in the House.
