The Los Angeles Police Department will send officers into grammar schools to teach students about alternatives to drugs and ways to resist peer pressure. The uniformed but unarmed officers will give lectures to approximately 35,000 fifth- and sixth-grade students, making appearances in classes all the way down to kindergarten.
