Taiwan gives $1.2 million to defecting Chinese pilot
A Chinese Air Force pilot who flew his MIG-17 to Taiwan last month was given Wang Hsueh-cheng, who landed his jet fighter at an airport in northern Taiwan after a 400-mile flight from eastern Zhejiang Province Nov. 14, was also commissioned a major of the Nationalist Air Force at a Defense Ministry ceremony.
Wang is the third mainland Chinese pilot to defect to Taiwan since August last year.
