Argentine President orders inquiry on mystery flight
Argentine President Raul Alfonsin, who has promised court-martial proceedings against many of the country's top military figures, has ordered an inquiry into the mystery flight on an Air Force jet to Spain last week with 10 secret passengers and a reported cargo of documents.
Mr. Alfonsin ordered the inquiry, demanding that any Air Force personnel guilty of misconduct be punished. ''One or two people are certainly going to be arrested,'' one senior government official said. The Argentine press reported Saturday that the Air Force Boeing 707 had left Buenos Aires International Airport for the Canary Islands Dec. 12, two days after Alfonsin took power after nearly eight years of military rule.
