Outsiders invest in Japan
More and more ''outside'' investors are buying into Japanese industry. US car manufacturers own close to 15 percent of that country's automakers. Almost half of Sony Corporation's investment ownership is foreign, according to Asiaweek magazine (Hong Kong); and such companies as Canon, Hitachi, TDK, Fuji Film, and Sharp report varying degrees (from 20 to 30 percent) of foreign ownership.
