Tenants in N.Y. co-op OK apartment sale to Nixons
The tenants of a luxury 13-story Park Avenue cooperative building approved the sale of an apartment to former President Richard Nixon and his wife Monday, allowing him to move back to the city from Saddle River, N.J.
Arturo Peralta-Ramos, head of the tenants' board, said that in a ''democratic meeting'' the tenants had ''overwhelmingly'' approved the sale to the Nixons. He declined to give the exact vote. The co-op's board of directors had previously approved the sale of a 12-room apartment to the Nixons for $1.8 million.
