Florida poll shows Hart gaining in the state . . .
A new statewide poll released Tuesday by the Miami Herald showed Sen. Gary Hart has become Walter Mondale's key rival in Florida, one of the major states holding a primary next Tuesday.
The Herald said that Mr. Hart got only 1 percent of the vote among 282 Democrats polled in early February, but was favored by 15 percent in a survey taken right after the New Hampshire primary.
Support for Mr. Mondale has remained steady at between 37 percent and 38 percent, the paper said.
Both Sen. John Glenn and the Rev. Jesse Jackson had 10 percent in early February, but in the survey taken between Feb. 29 and March 2 Mr. Jackson fell to 7 percent and Mr. Glenn to 5 percent. The poll has a 4 percent margin of error.
