Three-man debate would have Dan Rather as host

CBS News has invited the three major candidates for the Democratic presidential nomination - Walter Mondale, Gary Hart, and Jesse Jackson - to participate in a one-hour, prime-time debate on Wednesday, March 28, at 8 p.m. Newsman Dan Rather would serve as moderator.

According to CBS News President Edward M. Joyce, the debate would be carried live on CBS television and radio.
