US carrier and submarine collide in Sea of Japan

The US aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk collided with a submarine believed to be Soviet in the Sea of Japan Tuesday night, the Pentagon said Wednesday. Navy officials said the 75,000-ton Kitty Hawk reported no apparent damage to the hull or injuries to the 5,000 personnel aboard.
