Beirut President, Muslims agree to outline for change

President Amin Gemayel and the Muslim opposition have agreed on a broad outline of political changes in Lebanon on the eve of his meeting with Syrian President Hafez Assad, opposition sources said Wednesday.

The talks, to be held Thursday in Damascus, Syria, will focus on forming a coalition government in Lebanon and arranging political reforms to give Muslims a greater share of power, official sources say.

Political analysts here said a key question was whether Lebanon's Christian leaders, who torpedoed the last attempts at national reconciliation, would go along with planned reform.
