Hungary joins list of lands staying out of Olympics

Hungary announced its withdrawal from the Los Angeles Olympic Games Wednesday. It was the ninth country to join the Soviet-led boycott of the games. Besides the Soviets, Bulgaria, East Germany, Mongolia, Vietnam, Czechoslovakia, Afghanistan, and Laos have announced they will not send teams to Los Angeles. The only East-bloc countries that have not declared their Olympic intentions are Poland and Romania.

Yugoslavia, which is not an East-bloc country, announced Tuesday it will send its largest Olympic delegation ever to the Los Angeles games.
